Rules of the 2011 GameBook Cup: Sweden vs. Finland

1.          Participation and eligibility. All golf rounds of full 18 holes automatically participate in the GameBook Cup if they meet the conditions of these Rules. The round must be actually played on any golf course on August 27 or August 28, 2011 (the “GameBook Cup Weekend”). The entrants must play and enter their actual score either with the GameBook® smartphone application or enter their score manually after the round on the GameBook Clubhouse at www.golfgamebook.com.  The round is eligible to participate if it has been played and entered between 00.00 – 24.00 hours, Swedish or Finnish time, on the GameBook Cup Weekend. A score must be entered on each hole (no blanks).

The GameBook application is currently available on the iPhone and can be downloaded for free in Sweden and Finland from the Apple AppStore. Using the GameBook smartphone application and Clubhouse requires a free registration. A separate entry form is not necessary. No purchase is necessary to enter. Each eligible round must have an individual score, that is, you may play any game format available in the smartphone application or on the Clubhouse that records an individual score.

In order to be eligible, the player’s registration with the GameBook smartphone application or Clubhouse must be made under his or her permanent residence in Finland or Sweden. This means that a player who permanently resides in Finland or Sweden can participate in the GameBook Cup even if he/she plays the round in some other country. If a player’s registration is to an address in Sweden, his or her round(s) will be counted for the Swedish total score. Similarly, If a player’s registration is to an address in Finland, his or her round(s) will be counted for the Finnish total score.

Helpful Hint: If you have registered and logged on to the GameBook smartphone application and wish to add a player to your round, the additional player is eligible for the GameBook Cup only if he or she is also a registered Clubhouse user and you add them to your game from the Clubhouse data base. Therefore, if you wish to add a player to your round, click “Add player” first and you’ll get a list of “Recent players”.  If the new player is on this list AND the new player has a “Nickname”, add the player.  If you don’t find the new player in your “Recent players” list or if the player does not have a “Nickname” on such list, click on ”Search players”.  If you still don’t find him or her and he/she wants to participate in the GameBook Cup, he/she must register at the GameBook Clubhouse and enter their score manually after the game.

2.         Winning categories

Sweden and Finland will compete in seven different categories.  The country that wins more categories will win the 2011 GameBook Cup.  In the unlikely event that the results are tied, the country that makes the most holes-in-one wins.

The first of the seven categories is “the country that makes more birdies”.  Birdies will be counted in proportion to the number of players in each country.

Other categories will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the GameBook Cup in these Rules and/or on the GameBook Cup web site at www.gamebookcup.com.
